It's tough for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the record chasers, are all that remain for a side that has achieved everything.

It needed until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowlers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It is hard for their batsmen to maintain a record if not provided the possibility.

Finally, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her debut and seven international trophies have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India briefly halted the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fail again.

If this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Certain people claim the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was far harder to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this knock followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in training, it's been a challenging time because it seemed my form was missing completely," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive nature kick in and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off the opening delivery and from there the batsman was underway.

"A chance to play and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

When she was out the team needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the assurance to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, should it happen, we know we can succeed."

These statements will be the last rival teams at this championship should hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will win from any position has grown stronger - this success succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at an important competition.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she wished she had played despite the injury.

Yet even as she later admitted those injuries have postponed thoughts of retirement, this tournament is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is yet to win a global event as captain.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
